Day 42 - Carqueja - Pterospartum tridentatum
This plant, common in the north of Portugal have yellow flowers (March - June) used traditionally to make infusions an in some special rice meals (Carqueja rice). My father had the tradition of using the branches to clean the fire-place chimney every summer...

Day 36 - Mondego Valley
Since I returned to my job, at the middle of January, that I've been waiting for a foggy day to take this picture. The Mondego Valley, between my home town and Coimbra is very beautiful and cold days with early morning fog are not always bad news to get nice pictures...

Day 35 - Bélem (Lisbon)
The magnificent tower of Belém. Originally built as a small fortress of the Lisbon port (1514-1520) by D. Manuel. It is where caravels used to leave Portugal to discover the new world.
